Tempest

“Tempest”

“Tempest” Simona Tartaglione, Angelo Murdocco, Eric Thomé

“The Tempest” not as straight theatre, ballet chef Philip Lansdale has reworked Shakespeare’s Drama as a modern and evenly weighted fantasy dance piece.
Ute Jostwerner, Westfalen-Blatt

It is a free and fascinating interpretation of this dramatic play.
Maria Frickenstein, Neue Westfälische

Set in Prospero’s magical realm, Lansdale’s mixture of neo-classical and modern dance (Ausdruckstanz) form, underlines his retelling of the complex plot and its multi episodes. With many scenes with in a scene, Lansdale’s supple, weightless, graceful movement gives a strength of aura to the characters, which places the human factor at the centre of this piece.
